Surprise Wildlife (mini) Spectacular

Just been lucky enough to spend Christmas in Berlin.The hotel was in the city centre near a main road,christmas market and fair and all the buildings old & new that go with a major city.Across the road was the Marx Engles forum ,a 100m square area with grass and trees.
Every afternoon at 4pm the sky was absolutely packed with thousands of carrion and hooded crows coming in to roost! The trees were packed.Such an unexpected bonus to a brilliant break and a real surprise.
Also saw a very clever hooded crow at a war memorial trying to crack a walnut in its shell with its beak.As we turned to walked away we heard a loud crack from behind us. The crow had dropped the nut from high onto the marble monument,just missing us, and had smashed it to pieces which it took great delight from retreiving from around us with its accomplice. Not respectful but clever.

Not sure how you spell this, but it sounds like it's that 'Vour sprung durcht technique' they seem to have mastered.
