Bird i.d. help
Seen near barnsley today and yesterday but this was as near as I got to a photo as it was nearly pitch black outside. It had a very distinctive white neck band and was blackbird sized but Ithink the collar is too high to the face for it to be a ringed ouzel,so is it a blackbird with the unpronouncable colouring(leucistic is it)? Thanks but I know the photo is garbage.

Looks like a male Blackbird with aberrant plumage. Partial albinos are quite common in this species.

Thats what I thought.The best look I got was yesterday without the bins and it just looked like it was carrying a slice of bread.Thanks for the help

Incidentally, a ring ouzel was reported from Blencarn in the Cumberland North Pennines yesterday.

Your correct with leucistic it is not Albinoism that is a different condition which would affect the whole of the birds plumage and eyes.
