First of all an early Happy New Year to you all.

Where is everyone going to be birding on NY's Day?

As I'm working I will be at Hounslow Heath followed by leading a guided walk around Bedfont Lakes. If time I may pop into one ofthe local reservoirs or check for Golden Plovers in the fields on the way home.

Cheers Adam, same to you - I'm in work too at the Countryside Centre, but should be able to get out and check locally!

Probably Bedgebury Pinetum or Bewl Water. Or, if all else fails, Bodiam.

I don't keep year year lists, but the pals I go out with do, so as usual I shall be joining them working their way up the Lancs coast from Southport to Heysham.

hi Adam and a happy new year to you also....i will be in the trough of bowland as per usual...i will be out early and home late...i have 4 areas in the trough i want to visit and then i will either make my way over to marshide or leighton moss...i am not a twitcher but i am hoping for a good few on the first day...after new years day i will concentrate on my local patch and the trough of bowland and start digiscoping and building a good photo libary i hope..i also hope that i can add some pics on here in 2010 and just improve my birding...i have a few species in mind that i want to capture on camera and a good idea where i can do this...all i need is time and that little bit of luck ...maybe next year i will fall over less, stay dry...and avoid personal injury....whatever happens i will be outdoors enjoying the hills moors and beautiful countryside we have in the lancashire area !

Happy New Year to all. If the day isn't a washout I'll start my year list at a fairly local site- probably Ruislip Woods/Lido which should give me a fair number of woodland/water birds.

Hi all.

Will probably just visit a few local sites on new years day, but have a few days of the week after so will go to minsmere one day and the north norfolk coast, cley through to holmn over a few days. depends on the weather though.

I'd love to get out somewhere, but unless the weather warms up dramatically and the snow and ice disappears I'll be birding in my garden and the local woodland where I walk my dog.

If the weather does improve, either the RSPB reserve at Insh Marshes or Craigellachie NNR just across the A9 from Aviemore.
