| | | Feasting birds Way back at the end of harvest I bagged up a load of corn sweepings and stored them in the corner of a barn with the idea of feeding them to the birds when the weather became hard.
After yesterdays fall of snow I tipped up a couple of bags and the birds have now found it and are having a feast.
I sat and watched for a while this morning and after only 24hrs there were Pheasants, Partridges, Greenfinches, Robin, Reed buntings, Linnets, even a Wren called in to see what was going on, but my favorites are the Goldfinches that came in to eat the rape seed.
It will be interesting to see what other species turns up over the coming days.
They are still very flighty so I can't get close to them but I did manage a few pics.   |
