| | | Golden Plovers I'm fortunate enough to have a huge flock of Golden Plovers near me, someone has counted them as 2,500 in total. Here's a couple of pics, the second when a Buzzard spooked them. |

I remember watching a 'family' of them a couple of years ago, while walking along Derwent Edge.
Haven't seen one since then.

| | | Re: Golden Plovers yes, thats a great sight, terrific bird of the moors, one of my favourites - so pretty too - I suspect you have some Lapwing in that flock as well, they often flock together.

| | | Re: Golden Plovers You get good sized flocks at marshside rspb southport. They look great through a scope close up. The large flocks are a good indicator when bop are in the area and they all take flight.

Jeff | Saw them too, but from the river bank. Did get a snap of an arrowhead of golden plover flying overhead.
