When I was there last weekend to do a wildfowl count there were no Canada Geese on the Pen Ponds. I suspect they were on a nearby golf course grazing where I often see a fair number.

Until c 3 winters back there used to be big numbers of Gadwall (c300) + Wigeon (up to 150), but the pondweed seemed to disappear + the number of birds. Coot numbers have also dropped from up to 400 down to c50 now.

I still always love being in the park though.

nice video. Last time I was at Pen Ponds I saw a buzzard getting mobbed by jackdaws and parakeets.
