No fishing at Draycote next year?

Just wondered what the reaction was to the ban on fishing at Draycote next year. Good news for the birdwatchers there or no feelings either way?

How is it good news for birders, the next thing will be a complete public ban.

Oh dear, you think so? I've heard that the anglers feel they're being squeezed out because of the bird watching lobby...

to be fair anglers do get squeezed out because of the birding lobby.
trouble is you cant blame a water owner for listening to a lobby that calls for angling to be banned when the anglers leave masses of rubbish behind them for the water owners to clean up.

when it comes down to it, most waters are lost to angling due to the actions of a few thoughtless non anglers.

Yes, some of them, I've noticed, don't exactly help themselves in this respect.
