So hope to get a photo. if anyone is in our area and would like to try and see it, go to sand and gravel depot, dunball wharf. Just outside Bridgwater, Somerset. |

| | | Re: hoopoe I saw one several years ago around Edale. I think it is a difficult bird to mistake for anything else. The first thing I noticed was the strange call - I'd never heard anything like it - then when I saw it, the black and white markings were very unique and striking, likewise its unusual kind of slowish flappy flight. |

Friends have given me reliable reports of a pair of Hoopoes near here (Glastonbury) a few weeks back, but they were migrating and didn't stay long. I managed to miss them, so lucky you! Maybe it's the same one(s)?
