feeding frenzy.

has anyone else noticed the birds in there garden feeding as theres no tomorrow. yesterday and today they are feeding non stop blue tits , great tits , coal tits, sparrows dunnocks, chaffinch, collard doves , wood pigeons , robin , magpie, great to see but im off to buy more food for hungry birds. rossy.

Same also here Rossy,they're building up that winter fat.Thats if the other birds can get past the Woodpigeons,they scoff even more

A couple of days ago, when I took a walk in the park I stood under a tree watching a flock of long tailed tits, and a great tit hopped down to a branch just above my head. When I held out some seed it came down four times and took some from my hand. Then followed me as I walked down the path, till the crows came. I have had them, and robins, do that before but usually much later in the winter. I've never seen anyone else feeding them this way, but I think they must be used to it as they do approach you as tho expecting food. Was lovely.

It's always very heartwarming to have this happen, but I always have the feeling that they do it out of desperation!

loripo i wonder are we going to have a very cold winter as like you say it is early although the hedgehog came last night and maybe hes fattening himself up if only we knew whats coming. rossy.

It has been a cold few days and nights recently as well. I know cos my moth catches suddenly plummeted!

it's not haapening here, there's nothing at all on the feeders at the moment
