Hi,
Put up a box now and they might use it through the winter to roost in, and maybe get something nesting in it in spring. |

Yeah, now is about ideal. Some birds will start prospecting too in mild Januarys 
I've got a Sparrow terrace to put up this weekend, just moved house. The Tree Sparrows are on the feeders already, so hopefully next spring.... |

good idea!! and try putting one or two in a sheltered, covered place to let wrens roost overwinter as well!!
