| | | Re: What's Your Favourite Bird? It's obvious a difficult decision but what about seasonal favourites with their songs?
Spring Blackbird ?
Summer Skylark ?

the racket they make/that great floppy flight...and, despite seeing loads of them here in Kent..they are evidently in decline !! |

| | | Re: What's Your Favourite Bird? The Peregrine Falcon..I've been obsessed with them since I was a young boy and feel lucky that I now get to see them quite regularly.
After the Peregrine it would be Birds of Prey in general but I've also become very fond of my garden birds in the last couple of years, particularly Siskins and Nuthatch. |

| | | Re: What's Your Favourite Bird? The blackbird, or maybe the blue tit. Can't quite decide. Both are great characters ... I learnt that blackbirds are not all the same, have very distinct individual characters, which when they are resident in your garden you start to notice. And they will build up a relationship with humans, know how to use us . The blue tits also have great character, very cheeky little birds and seem to be very lovey-dovey faithful pairs, unlike the blackbirds that seem to have a 'marriage' of convenience during the breeding season and are very unfaithful and then become 'single' for the rest of the year .
And coming in close on their heels (or should that be wings) is the swift. That screaming as they rush round the eaves, that is summer .... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
