Hello. Probably not exactly what you are looking for but have you seen the laminated FSC identification guides? Take a look here: FSC Publications : Guide to wetland birds

We haven't got any of the bird related ones but we do use some of the other ones and our friends have been really impressed by them

Good grief Katz!! That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. In fact it's even better than I'd visualised. I hope they go on to expand on these guides to include less common birds and animals. My order is on it's way. Thanks again, you're a star!! Kev
