Ferret | Correct. It is an adult male kestrel.

and thank you so much Ferret for your lovely in depth description
What threw me was the darker bits on it's wings and head, I'm embarrassed to say that I thought Kestrels were a solid colour  but I think it's the first time I've ever seen one from on top, they've always been hovering above before
