| | | Super Whooper Sigrunn Whooper Swan Sigrunn with darvic ring SP7 reported in Ireland yesterday made it back to Martin Mere this morning where its radio tag was attached accompanied by two cygnets, The photo is one I took of one the group tagged in January 2009 at Martin Mere.
During my visit to Martin Mere this morning a quick count revealed around 250 Whoopers present on the Mere including a wonderful family with both parents and three cygnets.
Also there today as we braced ourselves against the bitterly cold wind coming in through the viewing windows of Swanlink hide were 11 Cormorants, Lapwing, Coot, Widgeon, Greylag, 2 Lessser Canada/Greylag cross, Shelduck and a leuchistic Ruff very much lacking pigmentation
