| | | red kite Red kite seen today in eccleston lancashire. I saw the kite just after dinner slowly flying over the main street. I had good views of it until a magpie harrassed it and it flew off.
According to a good source the kite was seen over the longton area a day or two earlier.
Made my day.

| | | Re: red kite hi, well done on your sighting...is this the first time you have spotted this kite ? i was driving up the m61 last saturday from chorley and joining the m65 at the junction of the m61 and m65 i saw what at first i thought was a buzzard but with my focus on driving i could not concentrate on the bird..the next glimpse i got of the bird ( from a distance i admit) showed a forked tail ...i thought kite maybe but my view was brief and not great...i am so glad you have posted this sighting i am now putting it down as a possible/maybe..please let us all know if you spot it again !!!!!
