| | | Another Goose Query These images show what is a normal scene with Canada Geese and one Domestic Goose grazing in a field. That is how I took it until I saw the markings on the side of the chest. Incredibly similar (but fainter) to that on the Canada Goose.
Any comments?

| | | Re: Another Goose Query It's certainly a white domestic goose ( hybrid with probably Canada or Greylag). Most likely Canada x domestic since that's the flock it's with. I've seen several with our local Canada flocks over the years and it's not that uncommon for them to hybridise with escaped farmyard geese. |

I was being very cautious about jumping to conclusions (remembering my Swan/Goose Query thread before) but I too thought it was a hybrid. Presumably, this goose will follow the Canadas wherever they go.

| | | Re: Another Goose Query a few years ago,a guy near me who keeps a variety of fowl, witnessed one of his 'domesticated' white geese simply take to the air as a flock of wild geese went over---and it was never seen again.
until now?

dickybird | Thanks for your reply. Perhaps you should send a print to the chap who keeps fowl to see if he recognises it
These geese seem to get everywhere

| | | Re: Another Goose Query But don't forget, not all white geese are domestic escapees! Look out for white geese in winter flocks. You'll never know, it could be a Snow Goose! |

Cheers,
Adam | Yes, there's a few feral flocks of Snow Geese about now, possibly 1 or 2 now self-sustaining. |
