| | | Re: Birds at the beach outside Butlins - Skegness Hi.
The first picture could be either Herring or Lesser Black Backed. with a Black Headed on the far right. The middle picture looks like a Lesser as the Proportion of white on its tale looks right. The two birds flying in the right hand picture look like Herring. The last picture of gulls also look like Herring.
Its hard to judge sizes on these and gulls arn't my favourite birds to identify!
The waders look like sanderling to me.
Hope this helps.
I'm now gonna have a lie down!!! |

2 Sanderling- prominent black mark on bend of wing dead give away on this bird.
3 Herring Gulls
Glad you had a good time! |

| | | Re: Birds at the beach outside Butlins - Skegness Had a great time even found time to go on the rides with the kids!.
Each morning some of the fattest ducks I have seen stood outside chalet windows waiting for kids to throw bread etc.
Also saw great-black gulls.
really pleased about the sanderling first time I have seen one
Cheers
