Your bird is the Egyptian Goose - and is the second ID request of this particular species on this forum today!
Take care, Jason |

And I rather like the Coati, too! I nicked the image from the ZSL website. Apparently London Zoo give some animals pumpkins to play with at this time of year, so I expect it presents lots of photo opportunities for the visitors.

| | | Re: Can you identify this bird? Thanks for the welcome and thank you for the amazingly quick reply. I have compared images and find my friends poor picture doesnt show some of the detail that the bird has. Another point was it was very aggresive to other birds. Thanks again. |

| | | Re: Can you identify this bird? Hello tanky, and a warm welcome to WAB
I am always amazed at how much I learn from WAB, just by having fun, i.e. reading and posting around the forums. After you said the goose was acting quite aggresively towards other birds, I did a quick Google (bearing in mind the effect some alien species can have on our native wildlife) and one site brought up this information: "Although easy to maintain in captivity they are usually quite quarrelsome and a mated pair will often drive off all other waterfowl and break every egg they find that is not theirs. Therefore, they should not be kept in a mixed group of fowl unless in a very large enclosure"
I never knew that! Perhaps other, more in-the-know people here on WAB may like to elaborate on the point as to how they affect our own birds.
