| | | Re: Red Throated Diver at Central Park Chelmsford I saw this on the local bird sightings site - if it wasnt for the fact I have to brave the rush hour traffic I'd have had a look on the way to work tommorow.
Great photos btw |

| | | Re: Red Throated Diver at Central Park Chelmsford Some beautiful images there Pete. I would love one of these birds to visit one of our local lakes, and to be that close that I could get images as good as this.

| | | Re: Red Throated Diver at Central Park Chelmsford It had moved on when I was going to look for it yesterday - turns out the poor thing had moved to the river and died |

| | | Re: Red Throated Diver at Central Park Chelmsford Isnt it unusual to find these on inland lakes in the winter/Autumn anyway? Usually coastal, Could this be a sign of ill health? Im happy to be corrected as this is just a theory. |

| | | Re: Red Throated Diver at Central Park Chelmsford Reading the reports on bird forum the other day they mentioned it was sleeping a lot and seemed to have trouble taking off, so perhaps it was ill.
The report of it alive on the river on Monday said it was being mobbed by gulls, so thats another possibility. But the fact it was on an inland park lake for a week was never a good sign I don't think.
