| | | Re: Hawfinch? Definitely a Chaffinch but apart from the bill the plumage isn't right and that is the main thing that should be looked at. Here are two of my photos showing each bird side on. Look at the plumage and you will see what I mean.

I have saw a Hawfinch once but it was silhouetted on top of a tree, but the beak was very stout & he looked stumpy & top heavy.
I feel silly now
