| | | mysterious duck ID hello, my mum took this photo of a duck with exciting blue legs and beak but i cant find what it is - someone was apparently saying it might be from africa or america but i dont know - any ideas?

Its nothing that I recognise and as its with Mallards so I would say its either escaped from a collection or a cross breed or possibly an escaped crossbreed just to confuse you!!

| | | Re: mysterious duck ID Titchfield haven nature reserve, this woman said it had been there a while and apparently had a name but she couldnt remember it - i dunno i dont think its a crossbreed cos its got such defined markings, the white stripes on the sides and the black mohawk thing going on there :P |

It's a Fulvous Whistling Duck. I saw 1 at Titchfield a few years ago. Clearly an escape from somewhere. |
