| | | Hen pheasants Hi.
I have just heard unusual bird calls coming from are back yard.
On investigation it turned out to be two hen pheasants. Not unusual for the fact but for the location, pheasants would be the last bird I would expect to see. |

| | | Re: Hen pheasants I regularly see pheasants in back gardens this time of year coming in for the seeds from the bird feeders..
I don't get them in my garden as its enclosed and difficult for them to get out but one year a female did crash land in my pond it was blown in in a gale..
It stayed a while got its bearings and flew off.. |

I live in the middle of a town centre, some distance from any farm land where you would expect to see them. |

| | | Re: Hen pheasants That is a mystery, Pheasants are birds that would sooner run away from danger rather than fly. When they do fly they expend a lot of energy on take off, get to a reasonable height then glide for as far as they can.
Its unlikely that they flew into the middle of a town, my guess is they are captive birds that have escaped. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
