| | | Goldfinches There is a area of rough ground behind an old barn on my patch, it is covered in weeds and now has a variety of birds feeding on it.
I have been watching the Goldfinch numbers build up and over the weekend, there must have been at least 60 birds in one flock.
A lovely sight to see as they jump from thistle to burdock and back to thistles twittering all the time.
I stood close to the barn in the hope that they might come close enough to take a pic when I noticed I was being watched.
There was a pair of eyes just above the level of the gutter on the barn keeping an eye on my every movement.
Heres one of the shots I got of the Goldies, they are such photogenic little birds. |

Plenty of Goldfinches here too, must be a bumper year (or is it down to all those sunflower hearts I put out around the garden, about 8Kg a week now). |

| | | Re: Goldfinches Lovely shots snake. That goldfinch is superb. Seem to be a bird that is doing very well in most areas at the moment. |
