| | | What call? My mate has just described this call he heard while fishing last night (in the dark) I am sure I know it, but cant think of it. Here is what he described it as "Just one bird. Or possibly two - one in the wood then the other flying off. One certainly called as it flew off up river.
Sort of a low, throaty, warbling trill in bursts with pauses. It called to my right, then behind me, then to my left then faded off into the distance."
Any ideas anyone? its really annoying me. |

| | | Re: What call? Can you get your mate to listen to the recording of the Little Grebe on the RSPB website and see if he thinks it's the same? The RSPB: Little grebe
Or at least he might be able to listen to a few others that might be similar? |

| | | Re: What call? Ty will do, he's tried nightjar but wasn't that. Someone suggested Woodcock and he said it sounded pretty similar, but it wasn't that either. |
