Unknown bird of prey

Hi all, I have seen some birds of prey in the dorset/devon area that appear to be buzzards, however they have distinctive white round rings on the underside of their wings right at the end. they behave like buzzards and make the distinctive buzzard noise. i can't find any info on these birds can anybody help.

Buzzards are very variable + given what you've said about (call, behaviour) them I suspect that these birds are also Buzzards.

Hi aeshna5, I think your right, just wondered if they had perhaps been part of a re-introduction program as only seen this type in 2 areas, 1 in south devon and the other in dorset, have seen plenty of common buzzards in the same areas.. as i said earlier they are very distinct round markings/rings( definately not red kites)

very intrigued as i have spoken to many folks and nobody seems to know..

Are they Red Kites?
