Being a bit optomistic I think lol Could only get 160th of a sec, looks like I need to buy new equipment and photograph in better light. Rubbish pic, but great to witness.  |

Sometimes it's not about the picture, Fudgey, it's about what it represents! When I went to Minsmere earlier in the year I got a terrible, terrible photo of the back end of a bittern...but it's still special to me because it reminds me of a great day and watching some fantastic birds. Kingfishers are special birds - congratulations  |

Brilliant movement with the water,yeh the photo is rather soft.Im a newbie to photography,but it makes a refreshing change to pictures of Kingfishers on No Fishing signs,very natural pic yours  Jason |

Fudgey, that's a gorgeous picture - it captures the essence of the darting splash and the one that didn't get away... |

Thanks for the comments folks, but I honestly think its a dismal effort. I am not surprised though as its my first attempt. but I have made 7 minnow traps that are getting set first light today so I can try again. Yes I did make the pool (if it can be described as that) myself. Its a cut of from the main stream thats only 6 inches deep. I simply just made a circle of pebbles just higher than the water level and put 3 fish in. I am glad I didnt get it right first time, it would be boring if it was easy. A new plan is in place so I am confident there will be an improvement next time. Yous will be the first to see my efforts. Thanks again | | |
