| | | Identifying nest and eggs Hi,
We found a nest in our summer house which we disturbed by opening the summer in July. The mother bird quickly flew out - all we saw was a small brown flash. Anyways we then left the nest and hoped she would go back to it.
We have redone the summer house roof today and had to take the nest down, we found three abandoned eggs in it
What type of bird was this, all I have is pictures of the eggs and nest I know it may not be identifiable from just these but I am hoping. My thumb is to show proportion.

| | | Re: Identifying nest and eggs I agree that this is consistent with being a wren nest ... domed nest, side entrance, eggs white, lightly spotted with reddish-brown.
Normal clutch (of which 2 per year is usual) is between 5 and 8 eggs, though sometimes more.
Looks like you disturbed the parent early in the process, so good chance they were able to raise a successful brood elsewhere. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
