Nice photos - if your ever in London make sure you pop to Regents Park, you'll need a wide angle for the herons there!

Yes, I've seen them being hand fed + the Herons squabbling amongst themselves for the hand-outs.

hi tracey if you go to dam flask near sheffield and sit on a chair at the side of the water you get the herons coming up to you like you do the ducks on the river in bakewell.you wont need zoom more like a fish eye lens to get them in the frame.

Great pictures, it's great when you can get close to our wildlife and see the details of the plumage etc.

I am blowed if we can get close to our Herons or ducks even, hardly any people around here which may account for their shyness, mind you shooting seasons starts in a few days and they may be keeping their heads down.
