hello everyone whats been the highlight of the year so far as this i will imagine be hard as most will have a few . so too make it a little easier name 3. mine are peregrines successful again. sand martins doing very well colony growing. and to get out on the moors in the 4 seasons to see our beautifull country and enjoy the scenery . it costs nothing to get away from the hurly burly of everyday life. rossy.

1 Seeing the common seals off Oban really close (a first for me)
2 seeing my first live fox for 5 years
3 kingfishers, I`ve spotted a few this year, fantastic

1. Seeing these young Swallows in the nest......last Sunday!!!

2. Regular sightings of Kingfishers in Monsal Dale.

3. Not bird related....but seeing Red Squirrels on the Isle of Wight back in August

1. Rough Legged Buzzard at Flamborough
2. Red Breasted Flycatcher at Flamborough
3. Peregrine Falcon hunt and kill a lapwing about 10 meters away from a hide near Scarborough.

Not all bird related but mine are
1. Finding WAB earlier this year - instructive, helpful and fun.
2. Seeing/hearing a buzzard over our local park. Odd that the sound seemed familiar even tho I had never seen one.
3. Having a comma butterfly perch on my hand to take the salt (a very sweaty day) and I was able to watch in closeup - magic

The main highlight for me this year so far was finally catching up with one of our rarer Butterflies, the Black Hairstreak, even better than that was finding and photographing a mating pair, something very few people ever get the chance to see!

1. A sparrowhawk catching a skylark earlier on this year
2. The fox on my street thats been waking me up at four every morning I'm still trying to work out if thats a good thing or not as college work probably suffers

3. PINE MARTEN in scotland

skylarks and wheatears in profusion on the slopes of snowdon, definately.

seeing a vast array of bird species in portugal and spain, especially in the salt lagoons in southern spain

hard to choooooose but perhaps..... being lucky enough to come across a juvenille purple heron on local canal towpath - ace! young goldfinches coming to feed in my garden and getting a bearded dragon for my birthday!!
