| | | Re: whats been your highlight of the year. My highlight was hearing my very first Cuckoo earlier this year. I had always wanted to see or hear a Cuckoo and after seeing them on Springwatch I was even more keen for it to happen. I was lucky and heard one a few miles from where I live in a cleared conifer woodland
P.S. I agree sunnydale that sounds awesome Seamus

I remember one October staggering around in a conifer plantation in the dark somewhere up the glen from Loch Arkaig trying to find a bothy I dimly remembered passing years before. Stags were roaring all around. Anyone seen the film Dog Soldiers? |

Almost being whacked by a hunting buzzard, he was flying at hedgerow height, skylarks on the increase again this year, saw the first ever lapwing in this area this summer, the last few weeks a tawny owl is hunting in the area and perching on my kitchen roof and waking me up at 05.15 this morning and lastly the other day a cow licked my dog as they were both leaning forward to sniff each other, surprised the hell out of the dog and he retaliated by fa**ing a stragety he uses to good affect against humans but didn't faze the cow at all , he ended up cocking he leg on the fence by the cow , certainly made my day. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
