bop scary stats on countryfile.

did anyone else see countryfile tonight. they reckon over 210 bops were killed last year by rogue gamekeepers who either poison them or set traps which i personally find disgusting and thats being polite. sea eagles were blamed for taking lambs and footage showed a sea eagle from a distance with a lamb. 1 it did not show whether the sea eagle had actually killed the lamb or was it dead already. so a survey now ongoing with lambs tagged to see if the eagles are to blame and the results will be given at a later date. the traps are barbaric as they trap the birds which are left hanging upside down to die slowly it makes my blood boil. sorry if this upsets anyone but i think we should be made aware of . rossy.

I saw this and was sorry to hear of so many birds being killed. The traps on top of fence posts are particularly cruel - even if the bop was rescued its feet would be damaged and it wouldn't be able to grasp prey. The poisons surely could be traced back to purchasers? Pet dogs, cats and other wild animals could take the poisoned rabbits, so could the landowner be prosecuted if they were found on his land?
