The right photo is a Male Wood Duck.

| | | Re: works pond Hi Dogghound, Thanks for the quick reply no wood duck in my bird book so that’s one I will have to add. We do get a lot of mallard on the pond with mutations and variations but the call made me think this was not one because it sounding likes a grey lag which we do get to see |

| | | Re: works pond The (Carolina) Wood Duck is native to North America and a common bird in ornamental collections and escapees over here.
