| | | It's amazing how quick That birds home in on free offerings and how the predators follow. Just over a week ago I put up a bird table and a couple of feeders. One with nuts the other niger seeds. For the first few days only a solitary blue tit appeared, but now I have Bullfinches, Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Robins, Blackbirds, Great, Blue and Coal tits and Dunnocks. I have lived in my house for a year now and before the food was put out I'd never seen a Sparrowhawk. I have seen 3 in the last 3 days (probably the same bird) I think it's amazing how quickly you can encourage birds just by putting out some free offerings. Couple of questions, I've had Coal Tits and Goldfinch on Niger seed feeders, will any other birds feed on these? Also when the food inthe table runs out do you top it back up or just wait until the next morning? Ty in advance. |

| | | Re: It's amazing how quick I'm feeling quite sad at the lack of birds in my garden.I live in rural Suffolk, and have always had lots of birdie visitors to the bird table, feeders and ground. The niger seed was completely ignored and I gave it to my near neighbour to use at his feeding station, his greenfinch and goldfinch visitors loved it. Not in my garden!! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
