| | | Re: My latest Kingfisher pics Hello Fudgey pics a lot better as far as focusing concerned big improvement, snag seems to be now in the proceessing work after as been mentioned above to much contrast making the colours to vivid and over powering.
But overall not bad big improvement keep going

| | | Re: My latest Kingfisher pics Bill, so is it mostly a problem with me photoshopping the colour? I thought I'd went ott, but it was really dull (actually raining) and before photoshopping they were too dull. At least I'm getting the focussing better which is encouraging. I'm grateful for info where I'm going wrong, that way I can improve. Thanks |

| | | Re: My latest Kingfisher pics I would agree with previous comments in that they are a little over saturated, but it depends on what you are trying to achieve. To achieve the picture that most like the true colouration of the bird then these comments are valid, but to sell the picture to look beautiful on someones wall, then I think you have it about right. The only additional comment is that it would have been nice to see a bit more of that beautiful chestnut breast - but they never will sit quite right will they!!!!
Regards.

| | | Re: My latest Kingfisher pics Ty BobP, I agree with you totally re the selling. I have had them enlarged already and framed and I've shown a few people who all thought they were amazing and they all commented how beautiful/striking the colours were. Now I know myself they are not perfect, but for a selling to your avg punter who isn't that clued up I think they are more appealing than if they were left untouched.
NJP87, yes from a hide. I made a permenant one on Friday and I'm about 5ft from the bird. It mustn't be to bad a hide, it landed on the roof twice in the 1st two days :-) |

| | | Re: My latest Kingfisher pics Alan,
If you are 5 foot from the bird what lens are you using ????????????????
Is this a big-ish crop ??????
As others have said over-saturated, whites blown but they are hard to hold !!
Perch is nice with the moss..
Background not to bad... uncluttered which is good .. reflection bright !!
Focus doesn't seem to bad may have suffered from a crop !!
Still a good effort..
