Certainly not a UK or European species! It's a Fulvous Whistling Duck which is common in collections + from tropical Americas, Africa + Indian area.

I took the photo today at Titchfield Haven Nature reserve near Southampton there was also a The Cape Barren Goose, so as you say an escape

I recall that I saw a Fulvous Whistling Duck at Titchfield when i was last there a couple of years back + had been told there had been 3 birds present.
