| | | Little Owl to gallery but how please?
I am a newish elderly member struggling to try and understand the rules of WAB; they are not easy.
How do I please place images in the Gallery? Please use the simplest of explanation. This owl would be an example.
I have managed to add images to my Library but getting them into the Gallery is proving an obstacle.
I have found members help with identification of insects impressive and I am grateful for this help. |

The confidence I spoke of was being able to eventually post a photo in the Gallery.
My wife only claims to be a novice at this wildlife photography job and I try my best to crop and save the efforts.
So pleased you liked the photo - most encouraging.
By the way know Harling well.

Brian. | Hi Nick,
I have run into a problem and that is that I am attempting to upload other images to the Gallery but am told they are too small ie 350kb approx. How do I resize them to comply with the rules please.
I use Paintshop Elements Pro 5 and the images are saved as Medium but when I then try and change that to Highest there is no change? Remember please I am in my seventies and no computer experience. Be gentle. Thanks Brian. |

| | | Re: Little Owl to gallery but how please? Hi Brian lots of people run into problems usually the images are too big, I have no idea how to make them bigger apart from if the original pic is larger and you resized a copy then go back to the original image and see what size that is.
You did resize and crop a copy of the original didn't you..
Your Owl is 880x586 pixels
your pic needs to be at least 800 pix wide and 600 pixels high and not exceed the 1600x1600..
yours is just short of this..
Welcome to wab this is your initiation test..

Being of a certain vintage I find computers a nightmare and the WAB site confusing trying to do anythig on it for me is like wading through treacle but I have the initiation test to pass. Marks out of ten later please. .
Undaunted I am about to try and upload other images which yesterday were too small but which I have tried to enlarge by tinkering with the Save for Web facility in Paintshop. Watch this space or rather the space I hope to fill with say Black Grouse which my wife photographed.
I did crop the owl as I do most of my wife's photographs. |

| | | Re: Little Owl to gallery but how please? I have had a word with my photo expert advisor ron1863 and this is what he said..
I have adjusted BrianHolland's Little Owl shot and uploaded it to the image Gallery under "Identified birds". Tell him to copy it (click on the photograph to open it, then left click, and finally right click on "save as") to his desktop then reload it into the members Gallery.
Hope this helps..
I don't know how he did it as I have tried to resize over cropped macro's of mine and had to go back to the original I always save copies.
Let us know Brian how you get on.
Here is the bigger version all you need do is follow Rons instructions and upload it to the Gallery..
