A couple of hours, all i need

Only had a couple of hours walking the dog this morning, but an eventful one nevertheless, the local fishing pond has a couple of Great Crested Grebes which you can get quite close to but the local Kingfisher eluded me, but i stood for forty minutes watching a very busy Elderberry tree which housed, in no particular order, Goldfinch, Female Blackcap, Blackbird, Chaffinch, Sparrows, both House and Tree, Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers, Long Tailed Tits,Coal Tit and in passing a GS Woodie, House Martins, Swallows and a Swooping Sparrowhawk, male i think, now i cannot wait for tomorrow and a full afternoons birding

I think Amoeba might like to hear about these on her 'diversity of birds in your area' I think I'd call that diverse!

Walked around this morning to find to my surprise that the Grebes had bred again and one had a couple of chicks on its back while the other brought a fish

Lovely pics Frank, any idea what brood this is, I know GC grebes breed late into the year, I've seen youngsters in the depths of winter before now.
