Check in your birdie dictionary
(I suppose it means the same as supercilious - raised eyebrows!)

| | | Re: Another name for eye stripe Thanks for helping loripo, but no, below the supercilium. I know what the supraloral stripe is (a stripe only present above the lores, that doesn't extend behind the eye).
But I feel sure that there is/should be a more technical term for a stripe that is lower than these.
I'd say loral stripe, but that doesn't extend far enough. Is there not a term for a stripe that appears to run through the eye?
Or is it just plain old eyestripe, LOL? |

Odd but they seem to have run out of a name other than eyeline or eyestripe!
There is postocular - from the eye to the side of the head. I would have expected it to be trans -something...
Over to the experts I think |

Have a look at this... though I would have said Supercilium too. Supercilium - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Take care,

| | | Re: Another name for eye stripe How about this one? Quote from a pdf document on Chinese bords: At Ping Shan on January 21st a warbler new to our list was identified
as the Chinese Yellow Bellied Bush Warbler. A little bird, length 4
inches, uniform brown above was.hed with olive green; it has a bright yellow
supercilium and a dark brown-green trans-ocular stripe. The under parts
are yellow, paler on the throat and on the centre of the abdomen; the under
If there are post-ocular & pre-ocular there had to be a trans ditto!
