I saw a dipper!!!

Spent a few days in Brecon Beacons and the highlight for me was to see a dipper.

Okay image not brilliant but a record shot for me.

We also went into a hide and nesting inside were these swallows.

The hide is used on a daily basis and it doesn't appear to affect the birds.

Congratulations, it's a good feeling to see something new. Dippers are a very common bird where I live and I see them every day at the bottom of my garden, where they fly up and down the river, mind you I would love to see a Nuthatch, that would be a first for me.

congratulations, I too would love to see a dipper and it would also be a first for me, keep trying to find them when they appear near us in Derbyshire, but somehow they find out I'm looking for them and disappear out of site until I return home, then someone else posts a note saying they've seen them!!!

Congratulations! I've only ever seen Dippers a few times, and would love to get ANY sort of photo of them.

There are plenty out in Derbyshire, at least in the White and Dark Peak areas, each with their own section of the river ..... I see them regularly. So keep looking, you will eventually get to see them.

Lovely pics, we see dippers quite often at the River Derwent in Cromford, Derbyshire - saw 2 last week, so keep looking.

if you want to see dippers in derbyshire, go for a walk down lathkildale, last time i went there was one every 100 yards or so

Dovedale is virtually 100% certain too - but do go early before the crowds.
Had a lovely walk there with my son last week.
