Kingfisher & dunnock call

I was sitting in my hide for the last few hours waiting to observe kingfishers. Been a lot of rain and the stream was running pretty fast so I only got one view of one. Anyhow as I was waiting there was a Hedge Sarrow in the vicinity & it's call got me almost everytime. I find their call very similar to a Kingfishers, not as pronounced and high pitched, but when your in a hide for a few hours the dunnocks call gets me excited for a split second thinking a kingfishers approaching. Does anyone else get momenterily confused with them or is it just me?

I'm going to agree, they are quite similar. Although, personally, I'm useless with bird calls and need to improve big time! So I'm not sure if that makes you feel better Fudgey.

It does Sandybeds, with the lack of replies I was beginning to think I was being stupid lol it's just when your sitting for long periods of time waiting for one & your concentration starts to go the dunnocks call instantly perks me up for that split second. Rascals, but the good side of it is they keep me on my toes.
