| | | Trapped Sparrowhawk Hello everyone,
Went down to Tesco this evening, and I thought my eyes were playing tricks. There was a Sparrowhawk flying around in the roofspace. Everyone was looking and wondering what it was. When I got home the story was on the local newspapers' website, however it looks as though they are at a loss on how to safely and successfully extract him! Any ideas here? Best wishes,

| | | Re: Trapped Sparrowhawk Thankfully, he has made his escape. I am rather surprised, as trapped birds often tend to only fly upwards. He appeared very distressed last night, flying round and round in circles. However, it has been a happy ending. Let's hope he doesn't try to chase the Pigeons in through the main the door again. | | | Re: Trapped Sparrowhawk Very good news Matt. I was thinking about the unfortunate bird last night and wondering if it would survive the stress. Ultimately, they could have used canon netting but it might have been hit and miss and that could have resulted in a stress related injury given the environment - Was also wondering how long it would be before Health & Safety stepped in with a Defra licence to have the bird destroyed (although I think that could have resulted in an immediate boycott of Tescos by most of it's customers!!) - so a very fortunate outcome for the S/hawk I'd say. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
