| | | You couldn't make this up :-) I was up at the Red Kite feeding station at laurieston today taking some snaps & the lady who runs it told me this story. A few weeks ago a women had been up at the site. After a period of time she was met by the owner & she said to her "well did you see the Kites?" to which the lady replied " no I didn't see any, but I seen plenty of birds." the owner slightly confused as there was plenty of Kites there said "the birds you saw would have been Kites." she replied " Oh I thought it was the kind of kites that you fly that were here."
Unbelievable, but true. Didn't half make me laugh :-) |

| | | Re: You couldn't make this up :-) I remember reading in an RSPB magazine once about someone on an RSPB reserve who had excitedly reported seeing a puffin fly over with a carrot in its beak..... turned out to be an oystercatcher! (But at least they had been there for the birds ) |

| | | Re: You couldn't make this up :-) when i was a warden at weeting heath we had an american guy come in who wanted to see the stone curlew - i took his money and pointed out where the birds were for him.
10 mins later he was back in the visitor centre demanding his money back
i found this somewhat confusing as i know he had seen the birds so i pointed this out
his response
"yes but they aren't doing anything - i think they're stuffed !!! "
