Hello
I work in an area that has quite a few large office blocks of approx 5 floors. Although the general area is fairly green. Opposite me is a view of various roof apex's and I have noticed that two Colllared Doves have taken up residence there. It is on the 2nd highest apex right on top in full view of any flying predators. They have been there since Monday am and apart from the male bird ( I summise ) chasing of any bird that comes near they do nothing - just sit. Yesterday he chased off an enormous crow that was about 5 times as big as he - he was not having this bird on roof and that was that -- To be honest the Crow looked like it could have picked up the dove and flown away with it.. It takes a dislike to Magpipes too, which we get alot of here.
They do not appear to be nesting.. so what are they up too -any ideas?
