| | | Please help identify :( We found this poor wee guy laying in the rubbish near some local kids who were trying to harm it. Can anyone tell me what species this is? and what it eats? I have a local bird of prey center near by that may be able to help. |

| | | Re: Please help identify :( Have looked but unfortunately we haven't many contacts for that area.
There is an SSPCA place at Middlebank (somewhere north of Edinburgh). I know they take in wildlife but don't know how far they are from you.
Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue are in Ayrshire on 01505 502415 & are quite likely to have contacts closer to your area.
I would give them a call first & see if they can suggest someone.

| | | Re: Please help identify :( Can it fly, these birds sometimes get grounded by weather or a collision and once on the ground cannot take off again due to their weak legs which are only designed for griping walls and other vertical surfaces, once on the ground they are stranded and just need a helping hand to get airborne where they will find all the insects they need. I have found two over the years and both took off easily and returned to their natural environment with ease. If it cannot fly I fear there is little that can be done to help it.
