| | | 6 BOP day Nice morning so I decided to go out looking for Birds of Prey. There are some more species around here but I thought 6 wasn't bad in 1 hour or so.
Sprawk - the local one
Kestrel - plenty around
Buzzard - plenty around
Hobby - the odd one hunting swallows
Red Kite - not sure how many, but they've become regular this year
Peregrine - unusual to see one here, especially in the summer, but pure luck this morning
Can anyone beat 6 today? |

| | | Re: 6 BOP day I tried to see how many I could see in a day once and managed an Osprey, red kite, peregrine, buzzard, sparrowhawk, kestrel, tawny owl, barn owl and short eared owl. Basically I got everyone I possibly could have got in my area except for the golden eagle, long eared owl & eagle owl. Not much chance of getting any of those three as extremly rare in my area. Took me 15 hours to get the 9. To get 6 in an hours great going. |

| | | Re: 6 BOP day No Common Buzzards where you are Dogghound? I thought they were everywhere now. If you can get to Wykeham Forest you'd have a pretty good chance of Honey Buzzard & Goshawk too, which I'd be very lucky round here.
Off out for a long cycle ride now and will take my bins just in case I run into a Harrier |

| | | Re: 6 BOP day Yes both of them around I was down at Wykeham earlier this week had common and honey buzzard, but tonight im off towards the coast. Little chance of buzzard although birds like hobby, tawney and little owl are present in the farmland so who knows. |
