| | | Little egret Just been in my local park (Wanstead Park) for the first time in a few weeks and saw a pair of these(sorry the photo is not that good). I have seen a few in north Norfolk but this is the first time I have seen any here. Wonder if they are the closest pair to the centre of a city. I think its about 8 miles from central London. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ar...rets_001_1.jpg |

| | | Re: Little egret They've been breeding at Walthamstow Reservoirs for at least 4 years with up to 4 pairs.
There are also frequent visits to the London Wetland Centre where today a juvenile Purple Heron has turned up! |

| | | Re: Little egret Wanstead Park brings back memories to me. I did nearly all my bird watching there as a child about sixty years ago. I logged about 70 species as a youngster over several years. No Little Egrets then ...Bob

| | | Re: Little egret There are quite a few of them at Farlington Marshes/Langstone harbour and there are about five or six of them on Forton Lake, which is a small salt water lake off Portsmouth harbour. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
