Went to Rutland water recently to look at the Ospreys, which were great. Took the above picture and my guess is its a green sandpiper, only because thats the best match in the book. Do you agree or am I way off the mark?

They leave their breeding grounds from June onwards btw and the ones we are seeing now are probably passage. Later, a small population of wintering GS will arrive.
There are records of breeding Green Sandpiper in the UK now too, although still a very very small population. |
