Discription, well from what fleeting views I have had of this little sweetie, it is a greenish, brown on top and a pale yellowish colour underneath, with a fairly distinguished stripe following from the beak. As for leg colour, I haven't seen them, I will try to take a photo, but as said before it is so fast it is hard to catch it on film. The beak is not unlike a robins.
I know that this is a tad vague but hope this wil help slightly, I will try to look at the legs next time it comes in (if it comes back).

Chiffchaff nearly always have dark legs. I don't recall ever seeing a Chiffchaff with pale legs - you? Iberian chiffchaff can sometimes show slightly paler brown legs but never the orangey/pinky tones of a WW. (Although I think we can probably rule out a Mediterranean Chiffy. But you're right - variations in all nature, including albinism, leucism, hybridisation etc etc
Description, including behaviour makes Chiffchaff very likely. |
