| | | Wrens The Wren is easily the most annoying and elusive bird I have ever encountered. I have heard hundreds but in the 8-9 years I've been searching for birds I have not seen 1! I haven't even seen one fly from cover, so how do you even glimpse these birds?
I completely disagree with those who says warblers are worse because I have had very close encounters with most of the warblers (Apart from blackcaps, which are the 2nd most annoying bird).
Having said that, I haven't tried seeing a Nightingale yet.
This is the best I have of a Blackcap, I had a really good oppurtunity there...
I had several blurred shots so I tried using the flash... |

| | | Re: Wrens I haven't had a problem seeing wrens, they are in my garden and seen regularly on the fences, gate and hedges so try looking lower down in hedgerows. I have been trying to see a Blackcap but not seen one yet although I can hear them about.

| | | Re: Wrens When you hear one singing which by the way is surprisingly loud for the size of this little bird just get yourself comfortable and patiently wait. It will show itself eventually.
I find early morning in spring is often the best time but I have seen them at all times of day and year.
This image was captured by waiting quietly and patiently for the bird to show. |

| | | Re: Wrens Not as good a photo but I came across a family party of wrens in the woods a few days ago. This youngster was particularly inquisitive: |

| | | Re: Wrens Normally when I hear a Wren its in the middle of a dense bush, the longest I've waited for is about 30 minutes. I'm sure one will show itself eventually. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
