| | | Re: Question I think that a lifer is a rarer species of bird that serious twitchers are required to "tick" only once in a lifetime, as opposed to the more common birds that they are required to tick annually.

Especially when you're watching an avocet's or grebe's beautiful courtship display and Mr Twitcher turns up like Mr Big and retorts to your reply to his question -
-'No........ I mean is there anything about worth seeing ??'............
Or when they trample you underfoot and literally elbow you out of the way (and I'm only little) because you've spotted the firecrest they've all come for.
